Our Services [mouse-over for detail]
We understand the importance of mobility, and we're all too aware of what can go wrong without proper planning and consultation. Equally, conditions change and mobility requirements change with them.
Our philosophy is pretty simple - we build relationships and provide mobility. This means we're there in helping choose the chair, and we're there to keep that chair rolling and comfortable for as long as it's needed.
Assessments and Seating Clinics
Wheelchair maintenance and service

Assessments & Seating Clinics
The initial assessment session is perhaps the most important part of the process. We evaluate your mobility requirements and can also arrange pressure mapping through the Seating Information Technology Laboratory (SIT Lab), an independent non-profit rehabilitation unit in Johannesburg. Using thin pressure-sensitive sheets, it is possible to record exactly where you are experiencing sitting pressure in your wheelchair. It shows up visually in real time, and gives you the ability to see the different pressure that you experience in different wheelchairs.
We can then determine the chair and configuration that will best suite your needs, and demonstrate various options. We also specialise in pressure relief through Tilt-in-Space technology.
Wheelchair maintenance & service
Even under the best care, we still recommend a half yearly check on your existing equipment to check for any wear and tear. Through our partner network, we have service points around the country and will ensure you have easy access to our technical resources.
Seating reviews
With growth, or a change in condition, your requirements will also change. Interim review consultations are vital to ensure that your chair meets your current condition and needs. Our quality ranges are mostly modular, which allows us to fine-tune your chair’s configuration without major expense.
Sitwell Technologies specializes in pressure relief through Tilt-in-Space technology.
Training & advisory
Sitwell Technologies offers seating clinics to physios and other wheelchair professionals. It is a half day course that covers:
The 7 Basic Principles of Seating

Practical Application using Sitwell Technology Systems
We can also include Pressure Mapping Training in association with the Seating Information Technology Laboratory (SIT Lab), an independent non-profit rehabilitation unit in Johannesburg.
Training costs vary with the subject matter and size of the group. Call us to arrange for a suitable date.
